ICOSCAA

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Integrated Communication System of the Conference of American Armies (ICOSCAA) is to serve as a link among PESCAA, Army Members, Observer Armies and Observer Organizations; with a High Frequency Radio communication Network as an alternative mean in order to maintain a permanent link for mutual interest information sharing within the organization.

The Integrated Communication System of the Conference of American Armies (ICOSCAA) is composed of:

a) Informatics Network of the CAA

b) HF Radio Network

INFORMATICS NETWORK OF THE CAA

The purpose of the Informatics Network of the CAA is to serve as a communication and informatics system to support CAA’s activities, and to provide its members with a permanent mean of communication for general interest information sharing within the organization.

The network is composed of a main server located in one of the Army Members and one computer connected to the Informatics Network in each Army Member, observer, or organization.

RADIO NETWORK OF CAA

The purpose of the HF Radio Network is to serve as an alternative link for those armies volunteering to integrate the network in order to sustain a link not only for the daily information sharing of the CAA but also for cases of emergencies, catastrophes and joint exercises related to CAA as well as combined exercises at the level of the Regulations of the Integration of the Communication System of the American Armed Forces (RETIFAA).

Those Army Members volunteering to integrate de HF Radio Network of the ICOSCAA must have the ability to operate in HF-USB-LSB-SSB; transmission and reception of data and radio wired integration.

The HF Radio Network is composed of one Network Control Station (ECR) in the host army and three regional transmission stations (Num. 1 North Zone – Num. 2 Central Zone and Num. 3 South Zone).
